Measurement
The Aquadopp is a single-point current meter which produces 3 velocity measurements (North, East and Vertical) in m/s.Description
The Aquadopp measures the Doppler shift occurring when transmitting and receiving sound along 3 narrow acoustic beams.
The Doppler shift is proportional to the velocity component along the beam. These data are then combined using exact geometry to generate 3D velocity measurements.
The instrument electronics integrate accurate Doppler velocity measurements with the several other sensors. The following quantities are delivered from the Aquadopp every minute:
- 3D Velocity (East/North Up or X/Y/Z)
- Acoustic signal strength
- Compass
- Tilt
- Temperature
- Pressure
