Slender sole, Lyopsetta exilis may feed onzooplankton
Slender soles, Lyopsetta exilis, are known to eat creatures on the seafloor like shrimp, worms and clams. Yet, it seems that L. exilis may swim above the benthic surface to try and catch zooplankton, which would mean its diet is more varied than previously thought. L. exilis lands and startles another slender sole and a squat lobster, Munida quadrispina.
