Due to some electrical work on the Saanich Inlet shore station, the array will be down for approximately an hour from 9-10am on May 8, 2012. The conductivity cell on the Seabird CTD 16+ 4996 located on the Digital camera platform (DCF2-01) in Saanich inlet was plugged between April 28th ~1500 and May 3 ~1400 UTC. The conductivity sensor data (along with derived data i.e Salinity, density, sigma-T and sound velocity) are flagged as bad. The VENUS team will be at sea between December 9 – 15 2011 installing systems in Saanich Inlet and conducting maintenance at Strait of Georgia East. Some of our data services will be unavailable during this time, but all archived data are accessible through our Download Data and Multimedia Archive interfaces. The Saanich Inlet array will be powered down at 9am on Tuesday October 18 2011 so Oceanworks can perform work on the power supply. The array will be down down for most of the day, so all data from Saanich Inlet will be unavailable. Thank you for your patience. We will be powering down the Saanich Inlet array for a few hours tomorrow morning (Wednesday October 5) for work at the shore station. We expect the system to be back online again in the afternoon. Data streams from Strait of Georgia will not be affected. The VENUS team will be at sea conducting a regular maintenance cruise between September 30 and October 4 2011. An upgraded node will deployed in Saanich Inlet so we will have live data streaming in from this region again next week. The Delta Dynamics and Central VIP sites in Strait of Georgia will also be serviced and a hydrophone array will be installed at 300m depth. There will be data interruptions during this time so our live data tools may be unavailable (live data applets, XML services, data plots, hydrophone and streaming webcam feeds). Archived data will still be accessible from the Download Data page. Saanich Inlet VIP has been successfully recovered for servicing and will be offline until late October 2011 (estimated). An autonomous mooring is in place and data will be back-filled on retrieval at that time. BC Hydro will be performing maintenance at IOS on Saturday, June 4, 2011. There will be brief data interruptions in all devices deployed on the Saanich Inlet Array. IOS staff are conducting generator tests this afternoon (Wednesday April 6 2011). There will be brief data interruptions in all devices deployed on the Saanich Inlet Array. Due to emergency generator testing at IOS this Saturday, we expect the Saanich Inlet array to go down shortly after 0800 and again sometime in the late afternoon. We anticipate the data interruptions to be less than 5 minutes. |
