Live Seafloor Camera Feed Used in Summer Class

During the last three weeks, the VENUS seafloor camera feed was used in the Biological Oceanography (EOS/BIOL311) summer course at UVic. Observing live conditions at 300m in the Strait of Georgia was a rather unique experience to the students learning about ocean processes and marine biology in the coastal environment. Every morning Dr. Dower logged onto the camera and conducted a 5-minute long observation of the environment, bringing up the live feed on the big classroom display.

A full archive of stills and videos taken on VENUS cameras is available at http://venus.uvic.ca/data/data-archive/?search=3.
