Hi-def quality of video has always been a desirable technology for marine researchers. It’s not without reason that it was so hard to deliver; bandwidth requirements is one of them. In May 2009, a prototype video compression technology from W&W was tested on the Ocean Technology Test Bed, connected to the VENUS node in Saanich Inlet.
