Strait slowly revealing its secrets (Globe and Mail)

The murky depths of the Strait of Georgia are beginning to yield their secrets to scientists through a unique monitoring program where oceanography meets the Internet.
The last of two underwater “observatories” set up by the Victoria Experimental Network Under the Sea (VENUS) will be fully operational by the fall. The possibilities of these observatories, with data-collecting instruments set up along a fibre-optic cable, are far reaching. Click here for item.
