VENUS was born on February 8th after a very long gestation period. The cable ship Wave Venture (operated by our partner Global Marine Systems) entered Saanich Inlet and began a 30 hour operation to install the VENUS node, cable and Instrument Platform. In the middle of the night, the VENUS team confirmed end to end connectivity as we were able to talk to instruments from the shore station.
